Gladesville Home
Relaxed Australian living meets the warmth of a New Zealand cabin.
Designed for a young family with three boys and two Dachshunds, this Gladesville home brings together relaxed Australian living with the warmth and comfort of New Zealand's cosy cabins. The family loved their neighbourhood but needed more space to grow. Rather than building up, the focus was on creating a generous single-level home that encouraged family togetherness, with an easy connection between indoor and outdoor living.
The heart of the home is the light-filled, open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, where a soaring cathedral ceiling creates a beautiful sense of space. Opening out to the pool and separate studio, the home is made for long summer days and entertaining with friends. In contrast, warmer, moodier spaces offer somewhere to retreat during the cooler months, with a Cheminées Philippe wood fireplace set on a custom poured-concrete bench. The result is a welcoming family home that feels equally comfortable in every season.
