We need to talk about things you should never forget when renovating...

Getting ready to renovate is a busy time. There are so many things to choose, order, check and re-check. And by the time your builder starts demo, you’re probably already wishing it was finished! Don’t worry we’ve all been there. To save you the stress, we’ve put together our list of the top 3 things you should always include when renovating. Trust us… you’ll want to include these:

USB Charging Ports on the Kitchen Island

USB charging ports and hidden power points in the kitchen. When you’ve got them, you won’t know how you managed life with out them. Where there is an island bench with seating, I always include some hidden power points to the rear. This is the perfect place for kids to work on their laptops while dinner is cooking. It’s also a great place to plug in the food processor or other bench top appliances and take advantage of the island bench for prep space.

Designated Spot for the Ironing Board & Vacuum Cleaner

Having a place to store everything makes it a little easier to tidy up at the end of the day. Things that often go forgotten are the ironing board and vacuum cleaner. Instead of stashing them in the laundry and hoping for the best, take time to plan in a designated spot in your laundry joinery. That way there is a designated location where they fit snuggly and can be stored away neatly.

Concealed PowerPoints in Shaving Cabinets

When you come to renovate the bathrooms, consider what usually gets left out on the bench: the electric toothbrush and shaver. The perfect solution can be found inside the shaving cabinet. Speak to your joiner and electrician about installing a power point inside the shaving cabinets. With the shelves adjusted to the right height the electric tooth brush and shaver can neatly be concealed inside the cabinet and off the bench.
